Mastering Physical Freedom: A Deep Dive into the Carnivore Lifestyle with Coach Bronson Dant

There are hundreds of inspiring carnivores on the internet. Some have lost a lot of weight, many have dramatically improved their skin conditions, some have gotten rid of their autoimmune condition symptoms, and others, like Coach Bronson seem to be defying ageing while on the carnivore diet

I was extremely fortunate to be able to interview Coach Bronson Dant recently. He’s a fitness and carnivore coach who has been helping people gain physical freedom and independence for over a decade.

1. When Did You First Discover the Carnivore Diet?

I started following a carnivore diet on May 1st, 2018. I did about 3 weeks of reading up on it and watching everything I could find before going cold turkey (no pun intended).

2. How Has a Carnivore Diet Helped You Personally and How Has it Improved Your Health?

Following this way of eating has increased my ability to self-regulate my intake. It helped me fix my satiety signals and drastically reduce cravings. I no longer have urgent bowels, something that plagued me for years as an adult. I healed from and have been able to avoid numerous injuries and chronic pain issues that I had attributed to “just getting older”.

3. Is the Carnivore Diet Something You Would Recommend All Your Clients Try?

Absolutely. Even if they decide it’s not a long-term option for them, everyone should try it. Self-experimentation is a key part of figuring out what works best.

4. What Do You Think Has Helped You Look So Young? It Looks Like You’re Aging in Reverse.

Haha, thank you! I really can’t say. Genetics play a role, but also lifestyle and my environment. I attribute most of it to eating clean, having muscle, and being a positive person. I feel young and act young, so I don’t see why I shouldn’t look young.

5. What Would You Recommend Everyone Do to Age as Well as Possible?

Reduce things that cause unnecessary stress on your mind and body. Then, do things to keep your mind and body as capable as they can be. Age is just an accumulation of time. What you do with that time makes the difference between growing old and aging gracefully.

6. What Do You Want Your Life to Look Like as You Get Older?

Individual physical independence and the ability to experience life on my terms.

7. What Do You Love About Weightlifting?

There are so many things, but the big ones are it builds the habit of facing and overcoming challenges. Every time you go to the gym, you have an opportunity to do something difficult, set a goal, reach it, and feel proud about what you’ve just done. That is one of the most powerful habit routines you can ever build for yourself. Next to that, weightlifting is the best thing you can do to fix every metabolic and physical dysfunction you have. Want to lose weight, fix insulin resistance, high blood pressure, injury, weakness, fear of falling, or improve your immune system… all of it can be helped by moving some weight.

8. Do You Think Everyone Should Lift Weights or Do Some Sort of Resistance Training, and Why?

100 times, yes! See my previous answer. Muscle is the key to health and longevity. If you neglect it, you will have a lower quality and shorter life than you could.

9. What Do You Love the Most About Being a Coach?

Watching people do more than they ever thought they could. I see the results that people have following my recommendations and know I’m impacting people in ways that will stay with them forever.

10. What Do You Mean When You Say “Principles Over Protocols”?

I’m writing a whole book on this topic. It’s a big point that everyone can learn more about. The principles of why things work and what the body needs to function will always be more important than any protocol used to improve that function. Basically, some bare minimums must be met in order for any fitness or nutrition plan to work and provide long-term, sustainable results that benefit quality of life and physical freedom. If they aren’t met, then what protocol is used is pointless. Keep your eyes out for the book! Here’s a video where I dig into the topic a little more.

11. What Are Your Goals for the Future as a Coach and Trainer?

Right now, I’m focused on running and expanding my F2 Method Bootcamp, working on my third book, and I’ve decided to go back to school and get my Master’s in Exercise Science and Nutrition.
