I Tried the Chloe Ting 2 Week Shred Challenge

Early in 2020, I stopped working out intensely to give my body some time to rest and recover and see if I could get my period back. Well, it worked, and I did get it back, but I also gained some body fat in the process.

This was not ideal, but getting a regular cycle again made it all worth it. After 6 months of getting my period consistently, I thought it was safe to start doing more challenging workouts again. Before this, I was walking a few times a week.

For the first few weeks, I just played around with my light dumbbells while watching YouTube videos. While on YouTube, I discovered people who did the Chloe Ting 2 Week Shred Challenge and got amazing results. The workouts looked quite challenging, and I loved Chloe Ting’s personality.

And so, I decided to do the challenge to really jumpstart my fitness journey.

What is the Chloe Ting 2 Week Shred Challenge?

The Chloe Ting 2 Week Shred Challenge is a workout plan and challenge created by YouTuber and fitness personality, Chloe Ting. I did the 2019 version, but there is a 2020 version too.

The challenge is completely free. You can find the playlist with the workouts you need to do on her website. Each day, you will need to do two to four videos on the schedule.

Does Chloe Ting’s 2 Week Shred Work?

It worked for me. After just two weeks, I felt much stronger. It is a lot easier to do many harder exercises like spiderman planks and burpees, and I have lost some fat, even though it is harder to see in my “after” photo because I have that pre-period bloat going on. Still, I can see and feel a big difference.

Of course, I did not get visible abs in two weeks, and I didn’t expect to either, but my abs are a lot stronger after the two weeks. It feels like this challenge has helped me shape the muscles underneath my remaining layer of fat. I’m sure we’ll be able to see all my hard work once this belly fat is gone.

I think it is a brilliant challenge for anyone who is beginning their fitness journey or has only been doing light exercises like yoga and walking to date.

But if you are quite fit, you might find it a bit easy. I loved it because I started doing it just a few weeks after starting to exercise again after a long break from exercise.

Now I feel stronger, more confident, and ready to try more challenges. After doing the challenge, I kind of feel like a badass.

Does Chloe Ting Count as HIIT?

Even though some exercises in her 2 Week Shred Challenge are intense, and she does include plyometric exercises, I wouldn’t describe it as a HIIT workout but more of a circuit. She does have some HIIT workouts on her YouTube channel you can try, but they did not form part of this challenge.

Why is Chloe Ting so Popular?

I think Chloe Ting is popular for quite a few reasons. For one, she is adorable, sounds very friendly and is encouraging, which helped me push through the workouts.

Her workouts are effective and give good results both aesthetically and in terms of performance, and there is a great community you can join when doing her challenges. The exercises were challenging, but I didn’t feel like I was dying throughout.

If you haven’t been exercising or challenging yourself when you exercise, completing this challenge can be a huge confidence booster. Exercises that were difficult at the start of the challenge will likely feel easier to do at the end.

She also makes it easy to carry on working out after this fitness challenge because she has quite a few challenges you can do like the Get Peachy Challenge and Summer Shred Challenge.

How Long is the Chloe Ting Workout?

The length of the workouts in the 2 Week Shred Challenge are different from day to day, but make sure you have an hour scheduled in for your workout just in case. Chloe Ting gives you an estimate of how long the workouts should take to complete, like 23 minutes, 33 minutes, or 45 minutes, but this does not include the time it takes to choose the next video, take water breaks, warm up, or cool down.

The individual workout videos that are stacked each day to form the full workout are between 10 and 15 minutes.

How Much Weight Can You Lose from the Chloe Ting Challenge?

How much weight you can lose from doing the Chloe Ting 2 Week Shred Challenge depends on a lot of things like your starting weight, what your diet looks like, whether you do additional workouts, whether you have a desk job or move around a lot at work, and whether you have any conditions like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome or diabetes that can make it harder for you to lose fat.

How Many Calories Do You Burn in the Chloe Ting 2 Week Shred Challenge?

The number of calories you burn during a Chloe Ting workout will depend on your body size, how fit you are, the length of the day’s workouts, how hard you push yourself, and more factors. It is very individual. You might end up burning more calories than your friend, even though you did the same workout.

It is also difficult to track how many calories you burn. I used a fitness tracker (I have a Fitbit) to give me an idea, but I know that it does not accurately track how much I really burn. But still, it is better than nothing.

Some days I burned around 200 calories, while other days, I burned 450.

Are the Chloe Ting Workouts Free?

The Chloe Ting workouts are absolutely free. You can find the programme on her website and all the workout videos are on YouTube.

What is My Next Fitness Challenge?

After the Chloe Ting 2 Week Shred challenge, my next fitness challenge is a 2-week Blogilates Pilates workout challenge. I am not following a set workout schedule set up by the creator of Blogilates, Cassey Ho.

After two weeks of forcing myself to do workouts according to someone else’s calendar, I wanted a little more freedom within this challenge. I decided to put together my own workout schedule, piecing together the workout videos I feel like doing.

I like to sync my workouts with my menstrual cycle. In the follicular phase of my cycle, I usually have more energy and can crush harder workouts. In my luteal phase, which is where I am now, I like to do low impact workouts that won’t put too much stress on my body.

I did the Chloe Ting 2 Week Shred Challenge during my follicular phase, and now that I am in my luteal phase, it is time to do something lower impact, and so, I chose Blogilates.

After my Blogilates challenge, when my follicular phase arrives once again, I am finally doing a Jillian Michaels workout challenge, where I basically do workouts from Jillian Michaels until I have built enough muscle and lost enough fat.

The Chloe Ting 2 Week Shred Challenge was a great way to jumpstart my fitness journey. I had a lot of fun with this challenge. The music was awesome, and even my parrot started whistling to the intro song after a few days of the challenge.

I highly recommend this challenge for anyone who has taken a break from exercise, is new to exercise, or wants to add the Chloe Ting 2 Week Shred to their list of accomplishments.
