The carnivore diet is naturally very low in carbohydrates, and if you do not have a large amount of protein and eat a decent amount of fat, you will definitely get into a state of ketosis. The carnivore diet is not about going into ketosis, it is more about the elimination of any plant-based foods. There is a large number of people who follow the carnivore diet who are not in a constant state of ketosis because of the larger intake of protein. The carnivore diet does not focus on the need to be in ketosis all the time, but with the low consumption of carbohydrates, you will get into a state of ketosis much quicker than someone with a carbohydrate-based diet, so any short period of fasting will most likely result in a mild level of ketosis occurring.
